User dictionary

Postby Keyboardinator » Tue Aug 12, 2014 9:06 pm

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Android 4.2.2, external keyboard (Onext BK-200)

Can I install the user dictionary I have on my desktop SM? If so, to what folder should I download it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You can't do this directly, but if you follow these steps, its possible to use your Windows dictionary in Android:

1. Copy the udc file (english US = useng.udc) "C:\Users\Your user name\Documents\SoftMaker\Settings\*.udc" to the android device.
2. Open the udc file with TextMaker
3. Invoke Tools->Check Spelling->Choose "Whole Document"
4. Now add the the words you want. Unfortunately, every word has to be added individually.

Thank you!

I know of this trick, but in my case this is rather time-consuming (almost 8000 words).

Should I understand that there is no other way and never will be? It means TM usability for my work will be very limited indeed.
