eM 5 Clent not working

I have installed Office 2012 Pro_Rev.682 on Win7 Home Premium laptop. eM client starts, says it needs to check the database, comes back with a message that says the database was created with a newer version and it needs to get an UPDATE. Attempt to get the update comes bac with a server error and exits.

This is on a laptop with newly installed replacement hard drive.

What is going on?

I used the unistaller for OfficePro and reinstalled the app. Now it again says that the eM database was created with a newer version and needs to do an update. Goes out to the download site and dies wit the 404, File Not Found, error.

The eM will not start.
