Font aliases not recognized

Post by Hacktivista » Sun Dec 27, 2015 8:43 pm

On Linux one is supposed to be allowed to replace one font per other font.

In the case of "Microsoft's Calibri" font "Google's Carlito" is a metric replacement, and it's properly configured on "/etc/fonts/conf.d/30-0-google-crosextra-carlito-fontconfig.conf" when one install's it with default OS package managers (in my case apt-get install fonts-crosextra-carlito).

But this configuration is not recognized by FreeOffice, so when I open a microsoft word document I find that fonts change the document's text size, simply because it takes another font (I wasn't able to notice which one as simply displays "Cambria"), different from the configured to be used. How can I solve this? Thanks!
