Highlight text function.

Post by Neutrino » Thu Aug 22, 2013 4:49 pm

There doesn't seem to be a highlight text function anywhere. In other word processors this applies a configurable background colour (which is usually defaults to yellow) to a text selection to give the appearance of it having been highlighted with a marker pen.

Format/Character/Background color. You can also place this on the toolbar.

Yes obviously I do know that's possible, but I don't think that's really the same thing at all.

Selecting character formatting opens the full blown character formatting dialog, in which you then have to select the color you want. 4 separate mouse clicks are required to accomplish the task.

Highlight text button reduces this to 1 mouse click, or even better a configured hotkey.

Don't you think that would be a good idea?

You can have a background color dropdown on the toolbar. You just need to place it there.

I can find no answer regarding the highlight text function . As mentioned , there is no separate function to highlight text separate and distinct from A highlight comment . Reviewing your Program, textmaker 2012 , I was very impressed . However, highlighting Selected text is crucial to the way that I use a word processing program . Can you please add that! Thank you, EJS

Install FreeOffice 2016 from http://www.freeoffice.com which comes with a Word-compatible text highlighter.

It is good to know that FreeOffice has Word-compatible highlighter but apparently FreeOffice does not save docx.

Our company has bought a number of commercial licences for Softmaker Office 2016 and we need to save docx too. Therefore it is not useful for us to replace the purchased version with the free version. It is also not convenient to install both and use FreeOffice when highlighting is needed.

Is there any way that we can get a Word-compatible highlighter (which you seem to offer free for other users) in the paid version?

SoftMaker Office 2016 has all functions (and a lot more) of FreeOffice and it comes with a Word-compatible text highlighter.
