How to register the software?

Post by GrouchyGaijin » Sun Sep 13, 2015 5:11 pm

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 64bit.
I had free office installed and registered, then realized free office doesn't save in the latest MS Office format.
I uninstalled free office via Synaptic.
I downloaded the trial version of Soft Maker Office 2012 for Linux.
It works great.

So I bought a license. I received the registration email, but cannot figure out how to register the software. When I launch Soft Maker Office 2012 I am told that I have X number of times I can run Text Maker 2012 or X number of days I can run Plan Maker 2012. If I click purchase either at start up or once in the program from under the Help menu I am taken to the website.

Where do I enter my user name and serial number?

Thank you,

GG

The email with your registration number clearly states:

Note: If you install using the .deb or .rpm archives and have installed a trial or beta version of SoftMaker Office before, please uninstall it using your system's package manager.

Uninstall the software.

In the email you received from SoftMaker, download that version.

If you're using Ubuntu or Debian, you will see that two deb versions are listed, the 32 bit and the 64 bit, use the correct one for your system.

sudo uname -a

Will tell you which 32 or 64 bit system you have.

Then download and install the package.

Best wishes,
