Insert Row(s) & Paste as single function

Postby stdilley » Tue Dec 30, 2014 2:02 pm

I can't find a way to simulate the Excel 'Insert copied cells' function. In Excel I could select the source row(s) and 'Copy' then right-click the destination row and do the 'Insert copied cells' function. I would get new row(s) above the destination row plus the content from the copied row(s). In (free) PlanMaker it's a multi-step process - figure out how many rows I need and copy, then go to the destination, insert my blank rows and do the paste. Just don't like the inconvenience of having to count rows so I can make room for my data plus there is the risk of overlaying existing data. Am I missing a shortcut?

I will refer that as a feature request to our developers.

How it currently works in PlanMaker:

1. Select the row header of the rows you want to copy
2. Right mouse click on the row header=>Copy
3. Select the row header of the destination rows
4. Right mouse click on the row header=>Paste

I would also love to see this feature, I really miss it from Excel.

So disappointed this functionality is still not available in PlanMaker 2016.

Thanks for a great product Sven; though I've surprised myself how often I find myself wishing for that little 'insert line paste' function or button

Unless I misunderstood, is there currently an extra 5th line needed to do that insert row & paste function?

1. Select the row header of the rows you want to copy
2. Right mouse click on the row header=>Copy
3. Select the row header of the destination rows
4. Right mouse click on the row header=>Insert Row
5. Right mouse click on the row header=>Paste

Its good to find the copied line remains in memory during the 'insert row' process, previously I'd been inserting the empty line 1st, which is even more faff.

Looking forward to the implementation of that neat button
