Font error

Post by kentfx » Tue Nov 25, 2014 7:48 am

I'm using a common font for a manuscript submission (Courier Prime). The font is loaded with all my other fonts in the /fonts folder. The Courier fonts appear on the Textmaker font list like this:

Courier Final
Courier New
C o u r i
Courier Screen
Courier10 Cry

Courier Prime, the one I need to use, is spaced out much wider than is shown here. When I use the font, text is displayed so widely spaced out that it is unreadable. (The letters don't actually have any spaces between them, that's just the way they are displayed.)

I can solve the problem by using OpenOffice 4.1, but I really don't want to as Textmaker is a far better, easier to use, more comprehensive program.

I've removed all the Courier Prime font files on my hard drive, but "C o u r i" still shows up on the font list and Textmaker still seems to be able to find it.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Please try this:

Invoke "Tools->Options->Fonts->Available fonts.>Choose all Courier if there listed.

If not, try this:

Copy the font to /home/softmaker/fonts. If there is no fonts folder, then create one.

Restart TextMaker and try the first option.
