Refuses to print -no problem with LibreOffice

Post by Puppy-Tester » Fri Sep 07, 2012 7:57 pm

When I hooked up my Epson Artisan700 printer and made it the default I was able to print a few pages from Textmaker 2010 for Linux. After I printed one in LibreOffice it won't do anything in Textmaker.

Does it help to remove the printer and add it again?

No. I am now having a similar problem with Officejet J4540 {4500} ,works fine in LibreOffice but not 2010 Textmaker on LinuxMint 16 Mate. It won't allow me to delete the default system printer.

Do I have to uninstall 2010 to try 2012?

Also why is there no guide for 2010 Linux version of Soft maker?

I would suggest to uninstall Office 2010 and try it with the Office 2012 demo version:
http://www.softmaker.com/english/ofldemo_en.htm

You can use the following commands in the shell to install/uninstall SoftMaker Office on your machine (please replace the names of the files and installations with the correct ones):

TGZ:
install: tar xzf softmaker-office.tgz
uninstall: our script (uninstallsmoffice)

RPM:
install: rpm -ivh softmaker-office.rpm
uninstall: rpm -e softmaker-office
list all installed packages: rpm -qa
list all installed Softmaker Office packages: rpm -qa | grep softmaker

DEB:
install: dpkg -i softmaker-office.deb
uninstall: dpkg -r softmaker-office
list all installed packages: dpkg --get-selections
list all installed Softmaker Office packages: dpkg --get-selections | grep softmaker

You can download the user manuals here:
http://www.softmaker.com/english/manuals_en.htm

...and finally here are some Tips and Tricks for SoftMaker Office Linux:
http://www.softmaker.com/english/tipslinux_en.htm

I hope this helps you sorting that problem out.
