Appreciate the response.

So I assume adding .ods format conversion abilities aren't yet one the horizon ether?

Is it because at the moment it would add too much bloat and make PlanMaker respond slower?

Thanks.

No, it's because of priorities and limited manpower. PlanMaker 2012 will come with complete XLSX import and export for Excel 2007/2010, and this was simply of higher priority (due to our customer base) than ODS. When PlanMaker 2012 is out, we can think again about ODS support.

Makes sense.

On wikipedia I read: 'The number of rows is now 1,048,576 and columns is 16,384' for the 2007 .xlsx format. Which would already solve my problem.

But how do I reconcile this with sven's information that there isn't a release date for more columns yet? Is this only about it's own .pmd format?

We support XLSX up to 65536 rows at the moment.

And 256 columns, for which I would need only a hundred additionally. So only a few of all those 16,384 apparently available with .xlsx 2007

I just wanted to add my vote for this feature.

I deal with lots of scientific data sets which have >100,000 rows, so unfortunately softmaker office is unable to replace ms office for me as I'd hoped.

If this issue was resolved there would be quite a few people I work with who would be interested in this product.

Other than that very happy with it!
