Hungarian Spell-checking?

Post by zsola » Fri Oct 14, 2011 8:15 am

Hi!

Is there any hungarian spell-checking plug-in available for SoftMaker Office 2008?

Thanks in advance:

No, unfortunately there isn't. And due to the peculiarities of the Hungarian language (it's an agglutinative language, which makes developing a spell checker very hard), I don't think there will be one in the foreseeable future.

Dear Martin,

Thanks for your kind replay.
Indeed the hungarian language is not the simplest language on the planet. :o
Anyway it wouldn't be possible to use an external spell-checker library, like hunspell, as OpenOffice and the others do?

Thanks in advance

No, but it will be possible to use the HunSpell dictionaries in TextMaker 2012 for Linux.

I recognize this might not be an ideal solution, but you might consider using an open source application that uses a Hungarian spell checker to type your text and once you're document is complete simply copy and paste it into TM to complete whatever formatting needs you have.

Just a thought. I apologize I am not familiar with Hungarian other than... I have heard it is quite difficult to learn... and I'm learning Mandarin at the moment. :)

Thanks for your replay!
Ok. I'll try it with S.M.O. 2012.
Anyway, I don't know, just think that the Mandarin is much more complicated than Hungarian language. So if you can learn it, you should give a try for Hungarian too. :)

Thanks again.
