Installing the Free Fonts in Ubuntu

Post by MPaul » Sat Dec 18, 2010 1:41 pm

I downloaded the free fonts that Softmaker just offered. However, there were no instructions on installation in Linux; so I thought I should mention how that works in Ubuntu.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04

Extract the fonts

Go to the Home Folder, and activate the hidden files. (Either using the View menu at the top or hitting ctrl h)

Create a new folder, ".fonts"

Move the extracted fonts to the .fonts folder

Restart Textmaker, or any other Word Processor, and there are the fonts

The fonts look really interesting, but it will take some time to really study them and see how they perform. But they look nice.

Thank you Softmaker!!!!!!
