Plans fot 64-bit Linux?

Post by EaglePrince » Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:58 pm

Hello there,

I have tried searching for any talk of 64-bit versions ((Linux and Windows) but found nothing so far.
My 2008 version (free Linux version) installs fine but doesn't run. Well of course it doesn't, as I run a full-fledged 64-bit system with Vista and Salix OS, a Slackware derivative. So unfortunately, I can't offer to beta-test the 2010 version either! :(

So my question is, when, if any time soon, should we expect 64-bit versions of the SoftMaker suite?

I can confirm SMO2008 for Linux will not run on Salix x64 13.02a. I did an install for all users.

I get the following message:

/usr/bin/textmaker: line 3: /usr/share/office2008/textmaker: No such file or directory

Even get the same message if I try to run as root.

You need to install the 32 bit system libraries. We'd love to give specific instructions, but every distribution does it differently...
