Huzzah! The typing lag problem has gone away on my Toshiba NB100 netbook since I installed Ubuntu Karmic Koala -- which leads me to think it was probably something to do with the Intel graphics driver, which was notoriously ropey in Jaunty.

Have you encountered a "bouncing" cursor? I got that on previous Ubuntu flavours. It seems to have tamed down with the lastest upgrade though. It happened in all apps though, not just TM

Not sure what you mean by a "bouncing" cursor! :) Mine stays where I want it to be.
