Hello,

does it mean that you cannot type in Portuguese chars or that Portuguese chars are not displayed correctly?

My english is a little poor.
I can't for example put the "~" in the a like â or ã or write "à or á" cause the keyboard don't let this.

Same problem with czech characters (deadkeys - 2key press characters) like ď ť ň. Copy/Paste this character from another application e.g. firefox to textmaker is OK.

Thank you both for your advice!

Please make sure that the keyboard layout in your Linux is set to your language. Does the problem then still exist? Does the special characters appear without problems in Open Office Writer? What Linux distribution do you use?
