I don't see the names of these programs listed anywhere. Heaven forbid that I would want to delete them but how would you?

Never mind, I guess you delete them on the PC and then via Activesync for the PPC.

The 'proper' way is, as you say, to connect via ActiveSync and uninstall them from your PC.
I just delete the folders and change any file associations on my PPC. This does leave some items behind.

Yes, connect your PPC to your desktop PC via ActiveSync and do an uninstallation on your desktop pc. In this way, both versions will be removed.

I just tried that and nothing shows. I only installed the PPC version - not the desktop version.

OK- cracked it. You use add/remove programs from the XP control panel, not add/remove from Activesync.

Shame - I didn't actually want to remove it - I just wanted to know how!!!

Yes, this is exactly how it works.

I have to point out that the uninstall process leaves behind a lot of data in the registry: file types, app paths, shell new, etc. Also the files containing the settings remain, but that's ok since you can easily delete them, or preserve them for a future installation.

I want to uninstall the beta but the programs do not show up in the remove programs list on the pda,
the program list in active sync, or the program list in the control panel.

How can I uninstall these programs both from the pda and windows XP?

Hello,

to uninstall the SoftMaker Office 2008 Beta for Pocket PCs please connect the Pocket PC via Active Sync with your Desktop PC.
Then, on your Desktop PC, choose the SoftMaker Office entry in the control panel under "Add and Remove Programs" , click on "Remove" and follow the instruction on the screen.

Did you read my post?

"the programs do not show up in the remove programs list on the pda,
the program list in active sync, or the program list in the control panel."

How do I remove the programs when they don't show up in any of the three places that you would normally delete them and there is no uninstall option provided?

Hello,

it is very unusual that the Software does not appear in the program list in the control panel of your desktop PC. Please try to install SoftMaker Office for Pocket PCs again and check if the program now appears in the programs list of your desktop PC. Then you should be able to remove the Software from the Pocket PC.
