Re: Samsung Officially Launches Bada Mobile Platform

Please don't be in defensive mode! In portfolio management, you need to select the most profitable business style once you have limited resources. Question: Which mobile OS platform would more lucrative for your office software business? You should answer, not me. What you made sounds generic execut...

Re: Samsung Officially Launches Bada Mobile Platform

What's the rationale for not supporting mobile Linux? I think you are doing another big mistake as you did by ignoring iPhone.

Re: Study: > 21% of German PCs run OpenOffice

Why don't you make alliance with Google? They will ship Chrome OS based netbook soon. Instead of Open Office, they might consider putting SoftMaker Office within that OS. There must a local office application in that box. Chrome Netbook Specs Stretch Believability http://www.pcworld.com/article/1855...

Re: Study: > 21% of German PCs run OpenOffice

Netbook sales have reached to 30.2 million in FY09. Why don't you make a netbook bundle deal with a NetBook vendor such as $10 for Softmaker Office OEM version (no DVD, no boxes, no books, already installed with the box and licensed to that netbook only and only). I think you better need to market f...

I think you need to be more aggressive in pricing and marketing to grab more market share.

Another nice article. But nobody mentions SoftMaker. :( Yet. But they will sooner or later. Study: > 21% of German PCs run OpenOffice

SoftMaker market share is only %0.3 even in Germany. Why is it so low? "According to Webmasterpro.de, a German IT service provider, the open source OpenOffice suite and its derivatives, such as StarOffice or IBM's Lotus Symphony, are installed on more than 21% of German PCs. A sample of over on...

Re: iPhone sales are estimated to reach 10 millions soon

SoftMaker seems to have technical talent to develop software, so they can do it even for iPhone. But their marketing and management team does not have the vision since they ignored the iPhone trend and developed for Windows CE or Pocket PC. I call this wasting resources and time. I also call this mi...

Re: iPhone sales are estimated to reach 10 millions soon

if SoftMaker releases beta iPhone and iPad version in April, that would still make sense. Assume SoftMaker Office for iPhone and iPad is 20$ which is decent price compared to iWorks ($30). If you can sell to 30 million subscribers, you can easily make 30 mio x 20$ = 600 mio$ revenue for the first ye...

Re: iPhone sales are estimated to reach 10 millions soon

iPhone sales were boomed as expected last year. Look at Apple's balance sheet. Instead of developing for Pocket PC or Windows CE, you would have develop for iPhone and would become a tycoon. Not joking. Wake up sleeping dudes. In the apple online store, there are 140,000 apps to download. I notified...
