Re: rev. 768: “Check for Update” fails

Windows XP does not let us access the update checker using https. Any newer version of Windows does.

This won't be changed in the near future. Simply disable the update checker. If we release another service pack for SoftMaker Office 2016, we will notify you via our newsletter.

Does the problem still occur?
I have the same problem! The key that is sent via email is not correct! The beta of SMO 2018 is not registered and does not start.
No. Different thing. The beta product keys expired today, but now they work again.

Re: appearance on openbox

The difference that I see is that the system font is no longer used. Right-click on a toolbar, choose User Interface... and make sure the checkbox for using the system font is active.

Re: Is it possible to create custom date format?

DDD gives you the short day name, DDDD the long one.

As you have a French e-mail address: With the French user interface, it is JJJ and JJJJ, respectively.

Re: Is Softmaker Thunderbird just Thunderbird?

Our Thunderbird is a stock Thunderbird plus SoftMaker goodness in the form of add-ons. These add-ons change some user interface behavior, install a more pleasant icon set and theme and, most valuably, add features for quick filing of messages and folder navigation. These are especially useful if you...

Re: Tiny menu fonts [SOLVED]

This is definitely not the default setting of SoftMaker Office. You must have changed the scaling in Tools > Options > User Interface Size. Go there and change it back, or delete the *.ini files in your SoftMaker Office settings folder.

Re: Saving as .docx with TM 2016 and saving as .docx with TM 2018. What is the difference?

Am I correct in thinking that if I use the default .tmdx file format it can only be read and opened by Textmaker? For instance, if I uploaded and tried to open that file in Google docs it would be unreadable by Google Docs? Correct. Google Docs does not recognize .tmdx, .pmdx or .prdx files. You ca...

Re: FlexiPDF 2017 for Linux BETA subforum - gone?

The international beta test for FlexiPDF for Linux never started, based on the feedback we received from the German beta testers. FlexiPDF for Linux was going to use a Wine/Codeweavers layer, and the results were not up to the standards customers expect from SoftMaker. It's possible that we will cre...
