Re: Criticism versus Request for Help

It is most unlikely that you know as much as I do about what the end users needs and wants than I, and it is equally unlikely that you have been involved in this area of the computer industry as long as I. How did SoftMaker survive for 25 years as a software developer if not by understanding what t...

Re: Why is SoftMaker not jumping into iSheep bandwagon yet?

Kids of that age aren't really the ones that care about office software.
They are more interested in media (films, music), games, and communication (social networks, chats).

Re: how to install softmaker office 2008.tgz in linuxmint 13

Linux Mint is a Debian based Linux distribution.
It might have been easier to just download the deb-Package and double click it.

Re: beta test Android

I hate double posting but I still want to be part of the Beta if that is at all possible. Please note that it is quite common for small companies here in Germany to more or less shut down operations between Christmas and new year, as many employees are on vacation. So it's likely that your posts wo...

Re: Transferring Keyboard Mapping and Toolbar Customizations

The filenames for the settings files have changed between SoftMaker Office 2010 and 2012.
You just need to rename the files from the 2010 version to use your settings in the new version.
You'll find those files in 'my documents\Softmaker\Settings'.

Re: SoftMaker office 2012 for linux

They are used to free because too many of them are open source fanboys, and demand them to be free. But that doesn't make them good. But it means that they are less likely to buy SoftMaker Office, even if it is way better than any of the free office suites. Windows users on the other hand are (on a...

Re: SoftMaker office 2012 for linux

But to be honest, I can't really see why you priority the Windows version before Linux. Windows is a bigger market, but linux needs these type of software more. I would guess that SoftMaker probably sells about ten times more licenses for Windows than for Linux. So it is the sensible thing to first...

Re: Portable

However, I used the "install to USB stick" to put eM client on a portable hard drive (as I've already said). From that portable hard drive I have been launching eMclient with the "exe" file. It seems to be working fine. Am I missing something? I assume you try this "portable" em Client on the same ...

You should have the option to enter a different command instead of using any of the applications offered.
Here, you just need to enter "textmaker".

First you asked to be added to the group of beta testers here: http://www.softmaker.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=8680 Once that is done you log off and on again to the forum. Now you'll see a forum called 'SoftMaker Office 2012 for Android Beta'. In either of the sub forums there is a thread call...

Re: Will Datamaker be a part of Softmaker Office, or indepen

The first question I can not answer.

Datamaker is not a database, but a DBMS - database management system. You can use it to work with basically any kind of database that comes with ODBC drivers.

Gosh. I guess it's been to long that I installed Softmaker Office.
