Re: Chromebook Support

Yes, I run vanilla Chrome OS, not Crouton or Linux. I find that the scrolling is a little strange, nothing you can't get around. I just stopped my subscription to OfficeSuite by Mobisystems as its formatting I thought was all over the place. I missed that TM nails that aspect of Word. I do like that...

Re: Chromebook Support

that's true - but I did worry about the loss of security, one of the good things about a CB is the inbuilt security. Turning that off seemed counterproductive. here's hoping SM will get its act together and produce something compatible with Chrome OS.

Re: Chromebook Support

absolutely you can run Linux under Crouton, which I recall worked well on my C720P, and yes then it ran SM Office (I have an old version for Linux). I found Crouton something of an overhead and rather tricky - perhaps it has improved since I used it 18 months or more ago. I can't be bothered to inst...

Re: Chromebook Support

For some reason, I have a problem with scrolling on my CB Pixel 2015: when I scroll the page using two fingers on the touchpad, it sort of keeps hold of the page and I then have to tap the page to release the cursor. It selects words as well as I scroll. I don't think they have bothered to optimise ...

Re: Chrome OS: when is SM going to do a version?

"I am right, you are wrong. A common scenario, these days." Actually I am unsubscribing this thread because you are either staggeringly rude or just plain weird. You wouldn't say that to my face if we met for the first time and were talking about this subject, so why write it down? As I say, you eit...

Re: Chrome OS: when is SM going to do a version?

I love the cloud, and I love Chromium and Chrome OS, and I use G-Suite (its unfortunate modern name) for some of my work. It works just great and - if you are an ordinary user - it is free (of monetary charge). You seem to be seeing demons and devils in the cloud - I'm sure that there are unscrupulo...

Re: Chrome OS: when is SM going to do a version?

Not sure I understand - are you just saying that you don't like Chrome, or that you don't like any browser, or you don't like software working in the cloud?

Confused.

Re: Chrome OS: when is SM going to do a version?

It does but not terribly well. For one thing it does not resize on the latest Android running with ChromeOS and secondly, scrolling is somewhat strange, you have to click on the document to stop it scrolling as you move the cursor up and down.

Dropbox not accessible from the Open menu

Using TM Professional 767.0623.gs on a Pixel C. When I use the open menu to get to Dropbox, it tells me that I am logged in but when pressing the Dropbox icon, two messages flash up quickly telling me (helpfully) "an error has occurred". It take two clicks to get rid of both messages. So Dropbox is ...

Re: why the limit of three PC's for each licence?

True - but in this day and age I am used now to subscription software (think: Google). I just sign in, and I can use it anywhere. Even Microsoft allows 5 machines per subscription, though personally I don't see why I can't use anywhere I like after signing in. The limit of three doesn't get around t...

why the limit of three PC's for each licence?

I was just wondering? I have a desktop at each of my office, my home and my cottage on the coast. I have a laptop and two Asus 2-in-1's. That adds up to 6 Windows machines. Why would I have to buy two licences just to be able to use Softmaker on one machine at a time? It makes less sense when I can ...

Re: Chromebook Support

I did it on my Chromebook Flip for a while when I had it in developer mode - works like a charm, given that it is still very early days. I still think that a version that worked using Chrome's tabs would be awesome - it makes it so much easier to navigate. I can't imagine that it would be too diffic...

Re: Chromebook Support

In the light of Google IO 2016 I would have thought you wanted to revisit Chromebook support urgently - if you can get Android apps on a Chromebook by the end of this year, as Google promises, think of all those extra customers for your Android product ... plus as the OP said, there isn't that great...
