I could pinpoint the segfault to my multi-monitor setup.
Using 2 monitors next to each other presentation18 starts normally.
Adding a third monitor above presentation18 instantly crashes.

Interestingly I also get a segmentation fault when using the 2016 version. However, I can start presentation16 normally. The segfault occurs reproducible always when I try to open the Options dialog.
