Re: Downloading FreeOffice 2016 for Linux

We do not offer FreeOffice 2016 anymore. FreeOffice 2018 has fewer features in some areas, and many additional features in other areas. Of course, if your pet feature is removed, you complain. Nobody complains about the features that we added. Thanks, Martin, I totally understand the "griping" proc...

Downloading FreeOffice 2016 for Linux

I use Linux occasionally, but I have Softmaker Pro installed in Windows 7. I was going to download FreeOffice 2018 to install in the Linux computer, until I read the thread in the WaterCooler area that said the 2018 version of FreeOffice had features removed from the 2016 version. I'm not interested...

Re: Excel order of precedence error

What is the exact wording of the error message? Hi, Sven, It's not an error message, it's a note in the help files. "* Note: In Excel, the order of precedence is incorrect for the exponentiation operator (^) and the negation operator (-), whereas PlanMaker uses the correct order. For example, in Ex...

In File=>Page Setup you can set the gutter.
Hi, Sven,

I can't find a gutter setting in my set up.

Would this be a feature that was added in 2018? I'm using 2016.

Re: Feature set reduction from 2016?

I was going to request there be a Free Office for the Mac, but if the features are being reduced, never mind. I was going to install Free Office 2018 on my Linux computer, but I'll install 2016 instead, if It can still be downloaded. And, I think I will rethink my usual recommendation of Free Office...

Print margins and duplex printing

I now own a duplexing printer.

Is there a way to have the L & R margins automatically swap from page to page? Thus having a wider left margin on odd numbered pages, and a wider right margin on the even numbered pages.

Excel order of precedence error

I just came across a note in the installed help files about an order of precedence error in Excel.

Is the error in all versions of Excel, or just specific versions?

Re: All Styles List

For what it's worth, I agree with your assessment of TNR. I prefer something like Arial, but when it comes to certain standards for writing research papers, organizations like APA want Times New Roman. I don't know why, but that is what we are stuck with. I suspect ignorance is part of the reasonin...

Re: All Styles List

You have to make sure that all your templates set up correctly in the template you use to create new files. You can set every template as standard template for new files in the File=>New dialog window. Thanks, Sven, that's what I'll do. Everyone, or almost everyone, just use Times-New Roman and Ari...

Re: All Styles List

Styles are stored in the current document. When you open another document, it does not contain the previously created styles. If you want to use the same styles in all new created files, you have to create them in a template (tmv file). then create a new file via File=>New based on this template an...

All Styles List

As I create a series of documents, I'm also creating my own list of new styles. When I open a previously created document, and change to All Styles, the latest All Styles list is not the same as list in my current document. Is there a way to have my current All Styles list display for all the docume...

OT: A thank you

Thanks and kudos for making the effort to write a manual!

No manuals is one of my pet peeves about the practices of contemporary software vendors.

Keep it up!

Re: Rearrange the order of paragraph styles

When you uncheck "Display hierarchically" in the sidebar, paragraph styles are sorted aphabetically. By renaming styles you may regroup them. Thanks, Jossi, but that didn't work. :( At least, it doesn't give me what I'm looking for. I have set the styles to show Styles in Use. There is the root, an...
