Re: .dotx versus .tmvx for your default template -- whats the difference?

You seem to be saying that choosing a .tmvx template for a document saved to .doc or .docx will make no difference to the fact that the document can be read and edited with MS Word. Will the extended abilities of .tmvx, if they are applied, also reflect in the MS Word-readable .doc or .docx document...

Re: .dotx versus .tmvx for your default template -- whats the difference?

Thanks! It would seem a .dotx default template is better for business purposes.

.dotx versus .tmvx for your default template -- whats the difference?

In Textmaker 2018 one can choose between a .dotx default template or a .tmvx default template. What are the implications of choosing .dotx rather than .tmvx (or the other way round) for your default template?

Is there a way to select more than one footnote simultaneously?

I had a posting here about the difficulty to spell-check a 100 page document with 401 footnotes, all footnotes copied (one by one) from another, similar document with a different language setting. The problem would be solved if it was possible to select more than one footnote, i.e. a group of footno...

Is it possible to run both 2016 and 2018 on the same computer?

I would like to try out 2018 but I need to wait until I have finished an assignment before I can experiment with a new version of Textmaker. If both 2018 & 2016 can be installed and used independently on the same computer I won't have to wait of course.

Re: Crisis with footnotes at end of document

Thanks for the suggestion to submit the document. It is the extension of an unfinished document I've already submitted to my principal (the party paying for the project), in which I started battling with the various footnote-problems. Please take a look at my new posting about three other footnote-p...

More than one problem with footnotes - see attachment

I have now experienced glitches with Textmaker footnotes in three different documents, all three with lots of footnotes. 1. The first problem is that document text and footnote text start overlapping -- lines piled on top of other lines -- at a certain position in the document. By deleting a charact...

Re: Crisis with footnotes at end of document

"Track Changes" were not checked (i.e. not activated) but "Show Changes" was checked (i.e. activated). I have delivered the month's work with the footnotes set to "Bottom of page". The principal paying for the work said they would set the footnotes to "End of docum...

Re: Crisis with footnotes at end of document

Thanks, I did what you advised me to do and deleted the hidden Returns/Page Breaks. But as soon as I saved the document and opened it again, the problem returned -- the Returns/Page Breaks were back. If I select to position the footnotes at the bottom of the pages, there is no problem. But the file ...

Crisis with footnotes at end of document

I am working on a 100 page document with about 600 footnotes. The footnotes have to be placed at the end of the document. When I set the footnotes to "Bottom of page" (Insert > Footnote > Options > Position > Bottom of page) then I have no problem. When I set the footnote position to "...

Re: Starting where I left off

With respect, what you are saying does not make sense. When you save a document, the latest editing done on it should be part of that document when you open it again. I suggest that you describe the steps you took to save a document, then closed the document or exited the program, and then opened th...

Re: Feature request

When I do Search and Replace, the box DOES remain open while I search through a document for the various occurrences of the search term. When I select "Replace all", I am given the choice, after completion of the operation, of either closing or not closing the Search and Replace box. So no...

Re: Any way to "Make it fit"?

I attach an example of "Make it Fit" in the form of two pdf's. WordPerfect has many such functions not found in other word processors and a wonderful user's forum. But for doing some real work rather than fiddling around I find Textmaker the ideal word processor. Still, Make it Fit can be ...

Any way to "Make it fit"?

WordPerfect X9 to which I am attached like one would be to a veteran car, i.e. without finding it really serviceable any longer, has some features I do love. One such function is "Make if fit". When you do Format > Make it Fit in WordPerfect, you select the number of pages the document mus...
