Re: « state of emergency »

These French have never made a revolution. They begin to deny the achievements of their most cited. In the meantime, I have understood more, seen other events and places from different angles and can generalize the situation which is, however, unchanged since the first post in this bizarre (I admit...

Uninstallation Problems [Was: Installation Problems]

If you cannot find a SofMaker package which is however installed on your system, you are alone. It took me these few days to remember, why my statement in the previous post made me feel uneasy. For a situation, where your usual package manager cannot uninstall a package, you can even then use an al...

These are the media buttons to which I refer, pretty standard on all modern keyboards nowadays;
The picture is too small to discern keys.

Re: Cut Copy Paste Keyboard Buttons

Hi, I don't see a way to edit the keyboard functions for SoftMaker TextMaker. I have a keyboard with the media buttons for Cut Copy and Paste. It also has volume buttons, calculator, and many more. All of the buttons work in Linux. With TextMaker, all of the buttons work EXCEPT Cut Copy and Paste. ...

You confuse free and free of cost. But that is not a big problem. Many people do the same. You are the freest of all and do not have to care for any of this.

Re: Installation Problems

So, my question is, how do I properly uninstall both of those applications, so that I can do a CLEAN installation of SoftMaker Office 2018 for Linux? Irrespective of your Linux-distribution, the response depends on how you had installed them in the first place. On a Debian based system, like yours,...

Re: External applications, no browsing feature

- If the fields are blank, we stay with the default program. Where is stored the default program ? Can we at least see which one is used here ? Not sure, if we should ask SoftMaker to take a responsibility which is originally the one of the system administrator or system developer who provides the ...

the instructions that come with the font's order are inadequate
Is there a reason why you do not want to use the standard fonts directories under /usr/share/fonts?

Re: how do i add a picture as the background to each slide

For this kind of operation, the Master-view, more precisely the Slide-Master is best suited: View|Master|Slide-Master Create a picture frame as big as the page and choose the picture-file. You can return to View|Slide after that (or a different view). Any new page will have the same background-pictu...

Re: Save As - requires extension type

Determine this by going to File | Options | Appearance and finding out if the checkbox "Use system file dialogs" is checked or not. PSE make sure you are running the Linux-version of SoftMaker Office. Otherwise tell us now, how we access to File | Options on the Linux-version of SoftMaker Office. I...

Re: Save As - requires extension type

Sooo, in Microsoft Office, even if you type an extension the system will just include that as part of the file name e.g if Drop-down shows as DOCX but you type type the extension as .TXT then you actually get a file "Filename.TXT.DOCX And you always know (make that: guess), what Docx is meant to be...

Re: General Question for Developers

I notice that the BETA version comes with a time limit. There could be a remark about your findings, but I won't do it. Currently, I've been working with files in (and converting them to) the TMDX format, both to test and to update. The Beta-version of any software cannot be but temporary. Now, the...

Re: Save As - requires extension type

When using the Save As command, despite the the type dropdown showing as .tmdx, it still requires the extension to be input manually. In Microsoft Office when Save As....it automatically takes the extension from the drop down box. There should NOT be a need to always add the extension. (gets error ...
