Re: Any scripting support on Linux?

Maybe the simplest way to get script support would be by means of an old-fashioned file-interface (export -> modify -> import). When these interfaces where common, XML had not been popular or inexistent (I am not old enough to know). So, nowadays, a little leap back in history could maybe facilitat...

Re: Any scripting support on Linux?

Feels like a big leap back in history.. actually, I think all spreadsheets I have ever used have had scripting support. Though some of them had to make a big leap back in history to allow scripting support. I do not know, what a good scripting engine for SoftMaker Office could look like, because I ...

Re: Any scripting support on Linux?

I need to fetch information from the spreadsheet cells This is possible in different ways. What kind of complication would the export to CSV mean to you and if there is none, what could you use to extract data from a CSV file? Which programming/scripting language would you deploy to make use of a S...

Re: How can one delete FreeOffice components?

The only way to get rid of just Presentations is to delete the files, and the only way to do this is by becoming root. Yes, it is dangerous, but that's what you have backups for... I may disagree with everybody and still get away with it: or use a different way to keep track of changes This part is...

Re: How can one delete FreeOffice components?

you should become superuser, and lauch your prefered filemanager. (...) and once you are under root mode you can do all mistakes that you want  Worst advice possible. Ignore it. ( 1 ) Stick to the package management tool which is provided by your Linux-distribution. If there was no such to...

Re: Character alignment problem

As I do not have a Windows®-system at my disposition, nor any version of Word, both documents are opened in TextMaker and look identical to me. In the first line, you use justified text, which means that the content of the line will be distributed over the whole line. Both documents show the same be...

Re: Character alignment problem

Independently from any analysis done by the SoftMaker staff, I already see several possible reasons for your observations: ⋅  Do you have the font “Calibri” installed on the Linux-system that you try to work on? ⋅  How do you measure the distance between characters, i.e. can you ...

Re: Installation ubuntu 16.04 - office installs but does not start

I am daring something new. Again, being a FreeOffice-User on a painfree Debian testing/unstable system, my opinion may be qualified as irrelevant. However.., all those who face problems with *buntu or *buntu-derived Mint-systems should unite! Then change the distribution for an unlimited trial perio...

Re: Textmaker, WYSIWYG HTML, and device convergence

“Textmaker - the cross-platform word processor that speaks the world’s language (HTML), and makes the world your office.” It is becoming more and more difficult to understand what HTML is. There used to be standards but nowadays, I am not sure any more, nor if the so called “ standard ” is worth an...
